Our Story
Canberra Seniors Centre is a welcoming community where people can stay active, connected and engaged. Through a wide range of social, recreational and educational activities, the Centre provides opportunities to build friendships, learn new skills, share interests and enjoy a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle.
Opened in 1965, Canberra Seniors Centre was the first community facility for older people in the Canberra region. Located in Watson Street, Turner, the Centre enjoys a convenient setting close to the city, with ample parking and attractive parklands nearby.

The Centre offers a diverse program of activities and classes, including some conducted in languages other than English. Members can enjoy exercise classes, painting, dancing, mahjong, cards and many other pursuits in a friendly and supportive environment.
Our Tech Hub provides practical, hands-on assistance with technology, helping people build confidence online and make the most of the digital world. A weekly craft group brings members together to create handcrafted items for sale at our popular biannual fetes.
There are also regular opportunities to socialise and connect through High Teas, social evenings and our monthly Lunch ‘n Learn seminars. Members are always welcome to drop in for a cup of tea or coffee, catch up with friends or simply enjoy spending time in good company.
Lunches are held regularly, and on the second Thursday of each month members come together to celebrate birthdays at our popular Birthday Lunch. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share a meal, enjoy conversation and strengthen the sense of community that makes Canberra Seniors Centre such a special place..

Membership fees are $15 per year.
