New to Canberra Seniors?

Whether you’re newly retired, new to Canberra, or simply looking to meet people and try something different, we’d love to welcome you.

Canberra Seniors is a safe and
supportive space.

My social circle grew to include a whole new range of people with experiences and cultures vastly different to mine.

Canberra Seniors contributes
significantly to healthy ageing.

The Centre makes it easy for me to get out of the house and actually enjoy exercise.

Getting started is easy!

From exercise classes and creative groups to games, technology help and social gatherings, there’s something for everyone.

The best way to find out about an activity is to try it. Your first class is free.

Drop in, meet our staff and volunteers, and see what Canberra Seniors has to offer.

The Centre is open from 9 am to 3 pm every weekday. We close for Public Holidays and for 4 weeks over Christmas.

Come along and give something a try. Our members are welcoming and you’ll quickly feel at home.

Wear comfortable clothing for exercise classes. Bring a mat for Yoga (if you have one but we do have spare yoga mats).

Join our friendly community and enjoy access to a wide range of activities, events and social opportunities.

Membership is $15 per year. You are welcome to try an activity before joining. You can fill in a form online or at the Centre.

Is there Parking?
Yes there is some parking on site and we make the most of the space available.

What about Public Transport?
Nearest Bus stop is on Marcus Clark before Rimmer St. Nearest Light Rail stop is Eloura St.

I’m not retired/I’m only 60. Can I attend?
For many reasons, this might be the right place for you. Most members are over 50 years.

Canberra Seniors Centre offers a range of welcoming and versatile spaces available for community use, meetings, workshops and special interest activities. Our hall, dining room and meeting room provide comfortable, well-equipped settings for groups of different sizes.

We look forward to discussing how Canberra Seniors Centre may be able to support your community, educational or recreational activity.

Canberra Seniors Centre is a place where people can stay active, connected and engaged as they age. Through enjoyable activities such as jazzercise, tai chi and dance, members are supported to maintain their strength, mobility and wellbeing while having fun and sharing experiences with others. These programs help people continue doing the things they enjoy and living independently for longer.

Just as importantly, our Centre provides a welcoming community where friendships are formed and a sense of belonging flourishes. For many older people, staying socially connected is vital to maintaining good mental health, confidence and quality of life. Whether attending a class, sharing a meal, joining a special interest group or simply enjoying a friendly conversation, members know they are part of a supportive community where they are valued and included.

The connections, routines and opportunities found at Canberra Seniors Centre help people remain active participants in their community, fostering purpose, dignity and wellbeing at every stage of later life.

At Canberra Seniors Centre, people are welcomed into a caring and inclusive environment where they can stay active, make meaningful connections and continue pursuing their interests.
